How to Connect EVject for Protected Charging

Normal Charging & Removal

Follow these steps for everyday charging and safe removal of your EVject device.

Complete Setup & Charging Process:

  1. Insert charger wand (or J1772/CCS adapter) into EVject.
  2. With EVject connected, insert charger wand into vehicle charge port.
  3. Hold EVject trigger until charge port latches.
  4. When done charging, stop charger by pressing release button on charger wand.
  5. Remove EVject and charger wand from vehicle by pulling them out together.
  6. Remove EVject from charger wand.

Smart Features & Tips

Thermal Sensor

If the connections get too hot, EVject will automatically pause charging until equipment cools. Charging should resume when ready. If for any reason it does not resume, please reinitiate charging session.

Release Tip

If EVject is difficult to remove from charger wand, simply push the EVject and wand together, then pull them apart. Be sure not to touch the trigger while removing EVject from charger wand.

How to Escape in Case of Emergency

  • 1. Get Ready to Escape

    Without exiting your vehicle, press

    [Unlock Charge Port] or the ⚡️ (lightning bolt)

    on your vehicle touchscreen or app to stop charging and shift into Drive or Reverse.

  • 2. Drive Away Protected

    Pull away to activate EVject’s breakaway feature.

  • 3. EVject Separation

    While driving away, EVject will permanently split into two parts protecting the vehicle, charger, and driver.

Important Emergency Information

EVject will split into two pieces during emergency use. One piece protects charger wand from impact, the other remains attached to vehicle. Once safe, remove remaining part from charge port by pressing [UNLOCK CHARGE PORT] on touch screen or mobile app. Dispose of parts or contact our team for a replacement:
